Trust Allah's wisdom and correct gently

“The problem will be the jealousy that is within ourselves.”

The khateeb, at 10:45

Allah withholds some worldly aspirations out of wisdom because unrestricted fulfillment would produce jealousy and corruption, while believers should trust His decree and gently help one another improve.

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

We all have hopes and dreams, and the khateeb reminded us that Allah has the power to give us everything we want. He explained that Allah gives in measured amounts because unchecked desires and jealousy can lead people to harm one another. In Paradise, Allah will remove the harmful feelings in people's hearts, and the khateeb asked Allah to cleanse our hearts even now. He also taught that believers should be mirrors for one another, recognizing what is good and helping each other improve honestly, without exaggeration. At home and with friends, we can practice this by protecting people's trust, giving advice privately, and speaking gently so our words help them grow.

  1. When something you hoped for doesn't happen, what helps you keep trusting Allah?
  2. How could you show happiness for a friend who gets something you wanted?
  3. What would gentle, private advice sound like between siblings or friends?
