For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that following the Prophet means showing kindness while taking our responsibilities seriously. Our words can hurt people, and we must protect what others trust us with, including their secrets and belongings. He also spoke about mudarat: being patient with people, overlooking many everyday faults, and avoiding needless arguments. He encouraged parents to build friendships with their children and to guide them gently, step by step. As a family, we can practice these lessons by listening warmly, pausing when we are frustrated, and bringing understanding into our worship.

  1. What could you say when a joke starts hurting someone's feelings?
  2. What helps you feel comfortable telling a parent about a mistake or a difficult day?
  3. What could help our family pause and calm down during an argument?
