For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught us about Allah’s name Al-Aziz: the Almighty, the most prevailing, and the source of honor and dignity. The khateeb reminded us that true honor comes from obeying Allah and holding on to the Quran and Sunnah, rather than depending on wealth, degrees, or people’s praise. We show humility before Allah by recognizing how much we need His help, and we should treat others with respect, justice, and kindness. Remembering that we will answer to Allah should guide how we treat guests, neighbors, and even people who are unkind to us. He encouraged us to ask Allah for honor through obedience and to help our children understand their Islamic identity through the Quran.

  1. What is one way knowing Allah is Al-Aziz could help you when something feels difficult?
  2. How could you show good character when someone is unkind to you?
  3. What could we do together this week to learn from the Quran?
