Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminds us that faith should appear in the way we treat others. Good character means humility, patience, forgiveness, honesty, and kindness toward people and all creation. When someone insults us, we should avoid returning the insult and answer with peace when possible. We should also avoid pointless arguments and lying, even when joking. The speaker taught that good character brings Allah's love, people's respect, and reward in the Hereafter.
- What is one insult or disagreement you could handle more patiently?
- How can you show humility when you are in charge of something?
- Why might people’s opinions of our character matter in the Hereafter?
