For the dinner table

The khutbah asks us to examine what kind of companions we are, not only what kind of friends we have. A good companion reminds people of Allah, encourages prayer and good deeds, and corrects mistakes with care. Our families and marriages should help one another reach Jannah through sincere actions, not merely through names or affiliations. We should regularly ask Allah to forgive us, purify our hearts, repair our relationships, and make our worship visible in how we treat others.

  1. Who is someone who helps remind you of Allah, and how do they do that?
  2. What does it look like to correct someone without hurting their honor?
  3. What is one action our family can take this week to help each other do good?
