For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught us that the best people are not only those who pray and fast, but those whose worship makes them kind and safe for others. A believer should benefit, help, and care for people, so that others feel comfortable around them. We were warned not to spy on people, expose their secrets, or take pride in harming them. When we cannot manage a good deed, we can still choose not to do harm. The sermon ended with prayers for sick community members and reminders about gathering well for prayer.

  1. How can our prayers make us kinder to people this week?
  2. How can we avoid hurting someone even when we cannot do something big?
