For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught us about three men trapped in a cave who asked Allah for help by remembering deeds they had done sincerely. One cared for his parents, one turned away from unlawful intimacy, and one faithfully returned a worker’s money and belongings. We were reminded to honor our parents, protect our private lives, and make sure we repay debts, return trusts, and give people their rights. Even when money is tight, we should clarify what we owe and begin a sincere repayment plan. Allah can open a way through our difficulties when we turn to Him with sincerity and right action.

  1. How can we make better choices when we are alone with our phones?
  2. Is there any promise, loan, or trust we need to make right?
