Every blessing comes with a trust

“What blessings has Allah given to you?”

The khateeb, at 23:09

In one sentence

Every blessing and responsibility is an amanah from Allah, so believers must live their faith consistently, fulfill their trusts, practice gratitude, and remain accountable through the Quran and Sunnah.

Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that everything Allah gives us is an amanah, or trust. Our faith, health, families, relationships, behavior, and blessings all carry responsibilities, so Islam should be lived every day, not only on Fridays or during hardship. We were encouraged to examine ourselves, care for our souls, nurture our children with values, and fulfill the rights of what has been entrusted to us. When we recognize our blessings and thank Allah, we should expect His generosity and increase. The khutbah closed by pointing us back to the Quran and Sunnah as the foundation of success in this life and the Hereafter.

  1. What is one trust Allah has given you that you can care for better this week?
  2. What does living your faith every day look like at home or school?
  3. Which blessing are you most thankful for today, and how can you show that gratitude?
