For the dinner table

This khutbah reminds us that the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are a precious season for worship. We can prepare by coming to prayer early, fasting, especially on Arafah, making dua, and increasing takbir, tahmid, and tahlil. Eid sacrifice should remind us, through Ibrahim, to place Allah above our attachments and use our blessings for His sake. Families can keep these days alive by reminding one another and sharing dhikr together.

  1. What does Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice teach us about loving Allah?
  2. How could our family remember Allah together at home or in the car?
