The khutbah reminded us that believers notice Allah’s blessings and learn from the people and events He places in their lives. During Dhul Hijjah, we should seek Allah’s pleasure through Qur’an, Sunnah, fasting, night worship, charity, zakat, and sacrifice. The speaker explained that spiritual happiness and Allah’s pleasure are greater than material comforts. Suhayb’s sacrifice and Ibrahim and Ismail’s obedience show us that faith sometimes requires giving up what we value. We can use these blessed days to ask what Allah wants us to learn and how we can obey Him more sincerely.
