The khutbah teaches that kindness is part of the Prophet Muhammad's character and should shape our everyday relationships. We do not have to be best friends with everyone, but we must protect people's dignity and rights. That means not hunting for faults, disrespecting friends, envying them, or keeping score of favors. Instead, we should pray for people, give generously, and tell friends the truth lovingly when they are wrong. Living this way makes our friendships and communities more pleasant and closer to prophetic character.
