For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that taqwa means obeying Allah with knowledge and hope, while avoiding what He forbids. The speaker warned against showing different faces to different people, lying, breaking promises, or pretending to be more qualified than we are. Sincerity helps people trust us, accept our advice, and lets us live with less anxiety. Instead of judging or discussing other people’s faults, we should focus on our own shortcomings and work to correct them. We can be honest about where we are while continuing to grow in Islam.

  2. What is one personal habit you would like to improve?
  3. How can we show sincerity when giving advice?
