The khutbah teaches that Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam for Muslims who are able to make the journey. Hajj mabrur, or an accepted Hajj, means worshipping Allah sincerely, avoiding sin and arguments, and staying patient through hardship. One sign of a good Hajj is returning more focused on the afterlife and less attached to worldly pleasures. Those who cannot go this year should keep a sincere intention and begin preparing for a future Hajj.
- What does it mean to be patient and avoid arguing when something is difficult?
- How can we show sincere intentions in our worship?
