For the dinner table

Shaykh Hassan reminded us that our journey to Allah calls for both faith and action. He explained tawakkul, or reliance on Allah, as doing our part while keeping our hearts attached to Him. Through the story of Musa’s staff, he showed that useful tools belong in our hands, while our deepest trust belongs with Allah. We can make thoughtful plans and still face uncertainty or disappointment, and he encouraged us to remember that Allah knows and rewards our sincere efforts. He also encouraged us to turn to Allah through dua and remembrance as we take practical steps, and to seek His help in worship as well as in everyday needs.

  1. What is something you worked hard on that turned out differently from your plan, and how did you respond?
  2. When you feel worried about what might happen, what could help you remember Allah while doing your part?
