In the khateeb's words
“when it's time to give more for the sake of Allah give more for the sake of Allah when you stand in salah do not let yourself be the lowest person get out of the masjid with the least reward”
“your religion is worthy enough to sacrifice for it it's not just saying we believe we are good Muslims no you can take all means to protect your own religion”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
Today's khutbah told the story of the Prophet's Hijra from Mecca to Medina. The leaders of Mecca plotted to kill him, so Allah commanded him to leave the city he loved and travel with Abu Bakr, hiding in a cave where Allah protected them. When they reached Medina, the people welcomed them with joy. The speaker reminded us that Hijra is not just history; it is a lesson that our religion is worth sacrificing for. Today, we make Hijra by leaving sinful habits, guarding our tongues and hands from harming others, and protecting our Islam and our families. If we do these things with sincere intention, Allah rewards them.
- What would you pack if you had to leave home for the sake of Allah?
- Can you think of one bad habit our family can 'make hijrah' from together?
- How can we protect each other's faith like Abu Bakr protected the Prophet?
