For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught that Muslim joy is connected to sincere worship and sacrifice, not just outward celebration. The speaker used Ibrahim, Hajar, and Ismail to show that saying Allah is greater means trusting Allah above fear, ego, desires, and even what we love most. We should measure our deeds by sincerity and quality while giving Allah credit for guidance and success. During Dhul Hijjah, we were encouraged to fast Arafah, give qurbani if able, give charity, remember Allah often, and let go of whatever pulls us away from Him. The goal is to meet Allah having passed our tests with humility and grace.
