For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that Allah did not give us Islam as a burden and that He intends ease for us. Islam teaches moderation in worship, eating, spending, rest, and every other part of life. The Prophet showed this balance by fasting and also breaking his fast, praying at night and also sleeping, and fulfilling his family responsibilities. We each have duties toward Allah, ourselves, and our families, and each deserves its proper care. When helping others practice Islam, we should offer encouragement, make the teachings understandable, and avoid making people feel frightened or overwhelmed.

  1. What is one part of your life where you could practice better balance?
  2. How can our family make worship feel encouraging and enjoyable?
  3. What is one responsibility you have toward yourself, your family, and Allah?
