Today’s khutbah focused on why Makkah and the Kaaba hold a special place in Muslim life. The khateeb described the Haram as a place of peace, with protections for people, animals, and trees, and recalled Hajar’s trust that Allah would not leave her alone. He spoke about the Prophet’s love for Makkah and the Kaaba’s place as a house of worship and guidance. He encouraged those able to visit to make good use of their time and strength for tawaf, and to learn Hajj and Umrah according to the Prophet’s teachings. He also reminded us that we worship Allah while facing the Kaaba, and ended by praying for pilgrims and Muslims facing hardship.
