Today's khutbah reminded us that many writers and leaders outside Islam recognized Muhammad's remarkable character and leadership. The khateeb especially highlighted Karen Armstrong's description of him as a success both spiritually and politically. He encouraged Muslims not to be ashamed of their faith, but to learn the Prophet's biography, follow his sunnah, and keep love for him alive through blessings and action. He also connected faith with justice, community, and responsible leadership. The khutbah closed with prayers for the sick, the deceased, Muslims everywhere, and the people of Palestine and Gaza.
