Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah’s greatest blessing to believers is sending Prophet Muhammad, who brought faith, the Quran, and guidance. The Prophet’s mercy, humility, forgiveness, and concern for people show us how Muslims should behave at home, at work, and with neighbors. Since many people learn about Islam through Muslims they meet, our character can open a door or become a barrier. We should learn the Prophet’s example, love him deeply, remember Allah’s blessings, and avoid letting worldly attachment control our hearts. On Fridays, we should also send abundant blessings upon the Prophet and ask Allah to guide, forgive, and help the oppressed.

  1. When might someone learn something about Islam from how we treat them?
  2. Which quality of the Prophet would you like to practice this week?
  3. What is one worldly attachment you could put in its proper place?
