Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that just as we need teachers to learn everyday skills, we need guidance for our hearts and our relationship with Allah. The khateeb described Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, as the walking Quran, showing us how to put its teachings into practice. He highlighted the Prophet’s trustworthiness, compassion, and love, including his gentle words and affection toward children. The Prophet’s attention to a child grieving his bird reminds us to make time for each other’s feelings. We can bring these lessons into our home by using kind names, listening closely, and being the first to offer Salaam with love in our hearts.
