For the dinner table

The khateeb reminded us that our hearts influence what we say and do, so we need to care for them. He warned that repeated sins, becoming too attached to worldly things, and harmful company can gradually harden our hearts. He also gave us hope: with Allah’s mercy and our duas, a heart that has struggled with sin can become soft again. Learning about Allah through His names and attributes, reflecting on the Quran, remembering the Hereafter, and keeping good company can help. As a family, we can ask Allah to purify our hearts and encourage one another to put these reminders into practice.
