For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught us that the most important good deed can change with the moment. Sometimes it is caring for family, helping someone nearby, or doing a humble task that others overlook. We should not limit service to money, status, or impressive projects; sincere time and effort may matter more. Like Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, we should notice needs, use what we have, and begin helping. We can ask Allah for guidance with confidence and then act on the opportunity in front of us.

  1. When might helping family be more important than another good opportunity?
  2. What useful skill or effort could each of us offer to someone in need?
