Talk about it at home

For the dinner table

The khateeb asked us to imagine the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, visiting our home and seeing how we live and treat one another. He reminded us that love for the Prophet should show in our actions. Using the letters of LOVE, he encouraged us to learn and revive the sunnah, obey the Prophet, venerate or honor his teachings, and extend our prayers upon him. He suggested making the practice of a sunnah a daily project and approaching revelation with humility. As a family, we can begin with a small step toward kinder behavior, learning together, and remembering the Prophet more often.

  1. What would you want the Prophet to see in the way we treat each other at home?
  2. What is one thing about the Prophet’s daily life you would like us to learn together?
  3. When during our day could we remember to send blessings upon the Prophet?
