Islamic worship is not limited to prayer, fasting, charity, or reciting Qur'an; it also includes bringing happiness to another believer. The Prophet noticed Jabir's burdens, helped him in a way that preserved his dignity, and returned the camel after paying him. The khutbah asks us to pay attention to parents, relatives, neighbors, teachers, and anyone who may feel overlooked. Small acts such as salam, holding a door, or putting away an elder's shoes can leave a lasting memory and earn Allah's reward. We should aim to leave people grateful for our kindness and hopeful about meeting Allah.
