For the dinner table

Today the khateebs told the story of Prophet Ibrahim, his wife Hajar, and their baby Ismail. Allah told Ibrahim to leave them in the empty valley of Makkah, and when Hajar heard it was Allah's command, she said, "Then He will not abandon us." She still ran between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times looking for help, and Allah sent the angel Jibril, who brought out the water of Zamzam. That is why pilgrims walk between those hills during Hajj. Later, Ibrahim and Ismail built the Ka'bah together, asking Allah to accept their work. We also learned that Ibrahim was the close friend of Allah even though his own people rejected him and threw him into a fire, because he always trusted Allah, and that we become close to Allah by worshipping Him steadily, every day.

  1. Hajar trusted Allah, but she also ran to look for water. What is one thing you can work hard at this week while still trusting Allah?
  2. If you were Ismail, how would you have felt helping your father build the Ka'bah?
  3. Ibrahim said "Allah is enough for me" when things got scary. When could you say that?
