For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us to make an effort while keeping our trust in Allah. We should study, prepare, and seek work, while remembering that our plans and connections are not where our deepest trust belongs. The khateeb also reminded children to appreciate their parents. He explained that a soft heart is compatible with strength and leadership, and he firmly condemned insulting or hurting one’s wife. Through the Prophet’s example of serving his family, he encouraged kindness at home and thoughtful choices that reflect our relationship with Allah.
