For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that Prophet Ibrahim’s legacy is sacrifice: giving up what we love for Allah’s sake. His story with Hajar and Ismail shows both obedience to Allah and deep trust in His care. When father and son faced the command to sacrifice, their love for Allah was greater than every other attachment, and Allah did not require Ismail’s death. During Dhul Hijjah, we can honor this legacy by putting Salah first and letting go of sins, ego, harmful habits, or anything that comes before Allah’s pleasure.
