For the dinner table

The khutbah teaches that on Friday we should turn our hearts toward Allah, leave distractions for prayer, and then return to work while remembering Him. Wealth is not bad, but it should serve worship, family, charity, and wise priorities rather than become our master. Barakah, or Allah's blessing, can make a small amount last and can give value that money alone cannot buy. We should ask Allah for halal provision, blessing in what we have, and contentment. Success is not simply having a lot; it is submitting to Allah, having enough, and being satisfied with His gifts.

  1. What is one distraction you could put aside to give prayer your full attention?
  2. What is the difference between having more money and having barakah in what we have?
  3. What is one way our family can use money to help someone or support worship this week?
