The khutbah teaches that the people closest to us can pull us toward Allah or away from Him. A good friend reminds us to pray, read Quran, attend the masjid, and stay away from haram; we should also honor our parents and stand by sincere friends in hardship. The imam said our brotherhood is tested when believers are hungry and suffering, especially in Gaza, so we must not become indifferent to their pain. We can ask Allah to unite hearts, protect the oppressed, and make us people who help others.

  1. What makes someone a truly good friend?
  2. How can we help someone who is hungry or struggling?
  3. What is one good habit we can encourage each other to practice?
