For the dinner table

The khutbah reminded us that true guidance comes through the Qur’an and requires taqwa: listening, repentance, and care for the hereafter. We should not become overly impressed or distressed by people’s wealth, power, or wrongdoing, because worldly luxuries are temporary. Instead, we should care for fellow believers with compassion, since faith and loving relationships are lasting gifts. By saying “la ilaha illallah,” we have gained the dignity of this world and the honor of the hereafter, so we should live with gratitude and keep our heads up.
