For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that akhlaq, our character and behavior, matters deeply to Allah and will carry weight on the Day of Judgment. The khateeb called us to treat Muslims, non-Muslims, and all of Allah's creatures with care, including animals and plants. He encouraged us to follow the Prophet's example in our speech and in how we treat the people who raised and taught us. He also reminded us to choose our friends carefully and think about the consequences of our choices. By being honest and humble, we can help others see the teachings of Islam through our everyday actions.
