For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that believers care for what others entrust to them and keep their word. The khateeb compared this care to a shepherd who stays attentive to the flock. He shared a story in which the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, borrowed supplies from Safwan and followed through by checking what needed to be returned or compensated for. He emphasized that integrity shows in how we treat people when we have power and control. As a family, we can practice this by remembering our promises, caring for borrowed things, and treating others fairly.

  1. What is one promise you want to give extra attention to this week?
  2. How would you make things right if something you borrowed got damaged?
  3. When you get to make the rules in a game, how can you make sure everyone is treated fairly?
