Musa’s story shows how Allah can bring hope and leadership out of a situation that looks completely hopeless. His mother was told to take practical steps, nursing him, placing him in a chest, and sending him onto the river, while trusting Allah. The river and even Pharaoh’s household became part of Allah’s plan to protect him. The khutbah also highlights Pharaoh’s wife, Asiya, as someone prepared to do good when the opportunity appeared. We should combine sincere effort with tawakkul and prepare our hearts to recognize and act on chances to do good.
