For the dinner table

The khutbah reminds us that a Muslim's deepest goal is to please Allah, not to collect praise or follow every trend. Abu Bakr's charity and the examples of prophets and scholars show that a good deed matters when it is sincere and faithful to Qur'an and Sunnah, even if few people notice it. We are asked to examine our need for approval and to treat every person, including non-Muslim neighbors, with dignity and peace. When intention comes before attention, our actions can gain blessing and real benefit. We can carry this lesson into the week by checking our motives, speaking truthfully, and choosing mercy over crowd pressure.

  1. What is one good thing you could do this week without telling anyone?
  2. When might attention distract us from intention?
  3. How can our family show dignity and peace to people who are different from us?
