Truthfulness brings peace and righteous action
“Be truthful and being truthful leads to good actions and good actions lead to Jannah.”
In one sentence
Truthfulness (sidq) in one's heart, speech, and conduct brings inner peace, righteous action, trustworthy relationships, and ultimately Allah's forgiveness, while lying compounds sin and misery.

- Defines sidq as truthfulness in the heart, tongue, and limbs, foundational to faith.
- Explains honesty's peace and lying's anxiety through hadith and the effects of sin.

- Describes the communal boycott, repentance, and Quranic forgiveness of Ka'b and his companions.
- Applies truthfulness to school, the masjid, marriage, family, friendships, and repentance.

Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“When you're honest and upright and you're not hiding and you don't have five hidden folders in your phone and on your computer, you live a tranquil, easy life.”
“Be truthful and being truthful leads to good actions and good actions lead to Jannah.”
“one true honest friend from the masjid better than a million people that are dunyawi.”
“nothing is going to help you get to Allah except you going to Allah.”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah teaches that honesty should shape our hearts, words, and actions. Truthfulness brings peace, while lying creates anxiety and usually leads to more lies. Ka'b ibn Malik chose to tell the truth even though it brought painful consequences, and Allah eventually accepted his repentance. We should keep sincere friends, practice honesty at school and home, and turn directly to Allah when we make mistakes.
- When have you felt more peaceful after telling the truth?
- How can we choose friends who help us become more honest and closer to Allah?
- What is one place at school or home where you can practice sidq this week?
