Imam Hossam reminded us that all people share a common human family, and Muslims have a special responsibility to care for one another as brothers and sisters. He explained that injustice includes bullying, leaving people out, cheating relatives, hurtful speech, and ignoring someone who needs support. Through the story of Abdullah ibn Abbas helping a man in debt, he encouraged us to use whatever Allah has given us to help others, even when success is uncertain. He asked us to remember people suffering and starving in Gaza and to act to support them. He reminded us that relieving someone's hardship and protecting their dignity are opportunities to receive Allah's help and mercy.
