For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah gave us guidance through revelation, and that one path to Allah is to keep improving our character. Instead of studying everyone else’s faults, we should look honestly at our own hearts and ask how our actions felt and what needs repair. Good character can be simple: smiling, spending on our families with hope for Allah’s reward, protecting people from harm, keeping our wealth halal, and repaying debts when we can. We should choose friends who bring us closer to faith, accept sincere kindness without needless formality, and avoid arrogance. The khateeb encouraged us to make these habits part of our homes and communities.

  1. What is one kind action you could practice with your family this week?
  2. Who helps you become a better person, and how can you show appreciation?
  3. What is one personal habit you would like to improve?
