For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reminded us that Allah gave us minds so we can tell right from wrong and choose how to respond. We should not decide that a person is permanently good or bad, because people can change and Allah can change hearts. We also should not let one person’s mistake make us distrust an entire family, profession, or community. Instead, we should be fair, kind, hopeful, and help one another move toward what is right.

  1. When have you changed your mind about someone after seeing more of their character?
  2. How can we correct a mistake without giving up on the person?
  3. Why is it unfair to judge a whole group by one person's actions?
