For the dinner table

Today's khutbah reminded us that good character is an important part of our faith and a way to be close to the Prophet on the Day of Resurrection. The khateeb encouraged us to practice modesty, remember that Allah sees us, and be patient both in hardship and with one another. He reminded us to guard our words and pause when we feel angry. Even a smile, a kind word, or a small gift matters, so we should never dismiss a chance to do good. We can each choose one quality to practice this week, ask Allah for help, and spend time with people who encourage good manners.

  1. What small act of kindness could you do tomorrow that you might usually overlook?
  2. When you start feeling angry, what could help you pause before speaking?
  3. Which good quality would you like to ask Allah to help you practice this week?
