Quotes
In the khateeb's words
“if you finalize this problem with yourself you will stay straight on the religion if you are shaky or shady or have doubts”
“do not be the person who has the power and the money to go to make haj and do not and you are not going to make haj because you say oh still I have more time”
Talk about it at home
For the dinner table
The khutbah reminded us that resurrection is certain, just as Allah brings life to dry earth after rain. Hajj is not only a journey or a set of rituals; it teaches submission, patience, restraint, and hope for Allah’s forgiveness. The restrictions of ihram train us to obey Allah even when something is normally permissible. We were also encouraged to avoid lies, exaggeration, shirk, and bad manners, and to bring Hajj’s discipline into everyday life.
- What is one temptation you could practice resisting this week?
- Why do you think Hajj includes rules about ordinary actions like cutting nails or using perfume?
- How can being truthful make a person’s faith stronger?
