Eid joy comes from Allah’s mercy
“There is no other reason for us to rejoice except we are grateful to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for His show of mercy.”
Eid al-Fitr is a celebration of Allah’s mercy and tawfiq in enabling Ramadan worship, expressed through gratitude and following the Prophet’s Sunnah.

For the dinner table
Eid is a time to rejoice in Allah’s generosity and mercy. Sheikh Umer reminds us that whatever good we managed in Ramadan, fasting, prayer, or charity, was possible because Allah helped us. Our efforts were not perfect, but we can still be grateful that Allah allowed us to make them. He also describes how the Prophet ate an odd number of dates before leaving for Eid prayer, showing that Eid is a day when we must not fast. This simple action taught the community a clear lesson about following Allah’s commands.
- What is something you did in Ramadan that you are grateful Allah helped you do?
- How can our family show gratitude to Allah while enjoying Eid together?
- What good habit have you learned by watching someone in our family?
