For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah reflected on the change in the direction of prayer from al-Aqsa to the Ka‘bah. The khateeb described this event as a sign of Allah’s love for the Prophet Muhammad and a lesson in loving and following him. He also reminded us of al-Aqsa’s importance in our faith. He told how the Sahaba turned during their prayer when they learned of the change, showing their readiness to obey Allah and His Prophet. He encouraged us to keep learning the Prophet’s life, share its lessons with our children, and put what we learn into practice.

  1. What part of the story of the Sahaba turning during prayer stood out to you, and why?
  2. What is one thing you would like to learn about the Prophet’s life together?
