For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah focused on Allah’s name al-Barr, the Most Kind. Allah’s kindness is wide and steady, and He gives us chances to repent even after we make mistakes. We should keep turning to Him in dua, ask forgiveness, and still ask Him for good things. We show that kindness in our own lives by worshiping sincerely, serving our parents, keeping our promises, helping neighbors, and treating peaceful people with care. A simple way to begin is to share food with a neighbor and avoid actions that inconvenience others.

  1. When has someone shown you kindness after you made a mistake?
  2. What is one way we can serve our parents this week?
  3. Who could we make feel welcomed through a small act of kindness?
