Today’s khutbah taught that the way we earn and spend money affects the condition of our hearts. We should seek halal income, be honest and transparent in business, and never cheat, lie, hide important facts, or use false oaths. We should not take advantage of someone who is inexperienced, and we should stay away from riba and other unjust gain. When we help someone, we should do it for Allah rather than reminding them of the favor. Regular prayer, avoiding major sins, and truthful dealings are paths toward Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
