For the dinner table

Today’s khutbah taught us to hasten toward good deeds instead of waiting or making excuses. The speaker described a man at the Battle of Uhud who immediately pursued Paradise after learning that martyrdom would lead him there. We were reminded that even someone with little money can work and earn in order to give sadaqa. The khutbah also urged us to let concern for suffering people, including those in Gaza, move us beyond words and toward action. Reviving our own hearts is part of helping revive the wider Muslim community.

  1. What good deed could you do today without waiting?
  2. How could our family make charity a regular habit?
  3. What is one meaningful action we can take when people are suffering?
