Read the texts yourself
These pages put scripture and official teaching side by side. Key passages appear with enough immediate context to show their force, and every excerpt links to the full document. Each tradition is described in words its own members would recognize.
The studies
What Islam actually teaches about Jesus
The primer the other studies assume: Messiah, virgin birth, miracles, from the Quran's own words, with the reason the line sits where it does.
Why did Jesus pray to God?
The principal Christian answers in their own words, the strongest of them pressed on its own terms, and the Islamic answer argued in full.
Gethsemane in Mark, Matthew & Luke
The same night told three ways, side by side, including the manuscript history of the two disputed verses.
John 17: “the only true God”
Jesus’s longest recorded prayer, complete, with verse 3 in four translations and verse 5, the chapter's strongest counter-text.
The Lord’s Prayer
The form of words Jesus gave when teaching his followers how to pray: the full text and what it directs.
Did Jesus say he is God?
John 1:1, 8:56-59, 10:30-39, 20:28, Philippians 2 and Hebrews 1: the central texts, each quoted with the nearby lines that strengthen the Christian reading, then tested.
What does “Son of God” mean in the Bible?
The Bible applies the title to a king, a nation, heavenly beings, Adam, peacemakers, and believers; every bearer quoted whole, then the two open disputes that shape what evidence each side can cite: one Greek word's meaning and one verse's manuscripts.
Was Muhammad prophesied in the Bible?
Deuteronomy 18, the Counselor promised in John, Song of Solomon 5:16, Isaiah 42: the readings each tradition gives them, the proposed alternate Greek wording tested against the manuscripts, and the double reading of one Hebrew word weighed against the dictionary and the Song's own wordplay.
Where did the Trinity come from?
What the New Testament states, what the councils of 325 and 381 defined (from the creeds themselves), and the development question tested by stated criteria.
Was Jesus crucified?
The one question where Islam and the historical mainstream genuinely part: both positions at their strongest, and where the evidence actually leaves it.
Does forgiveness require blood?
The Hebrew Bible's two strands, Jesus's own scenes of forgiveness, and the strongest case for atonement quoted in full and examined.
How was the Old Testament put together?
Most scholars reconstruct the canon as closing in stages, and four communities still count different lists; more than one Hebrew text circulated before standardization, and the vowel marks are medieval, added centuries after the consonants.
Is the Quran copied from the Bible?
The overlap is real and nobody disputes it; the dispute is what explains it. Each claimed source is dated on its own: the rabbinic saying on the value of one life, the raven burial story, the Syriac Alexander legend, and the second-century infancy texts.
What does the Quran say about the Bible?
Twelve passages quoted whole, in both voices: the passages that affirm the Torah and the Gospel as God's revelation, the passages that charge parties among their keepers with distortion and concealment, the three classical readings of that charge, and the Christian 'Islamic dilemma' argument quoted verbatim and examined.
Who wrote the New Testament?
All 27 books with their traditional authors and where the consensus or majority of critical scholars actually stands.
How the Quran and the Bible reached us
Two transmission histories side by side, with the manuscript evidence for each: the complications of both kept in, including Sanaa and the qira'at.
Did Paul change Jesus's message?
More New Testament books bear his name than any other author's, and no surviving source places him among Jesus's followers during Jesus's ministry. The texts, the history, the strongest case for each reading.
The method
- Context you can check. Key passages appear with enough of their surroundings to show their force (including the nearby lines that strengthen the other side's reading), and every excerpt links to the full chapter or document.
- Sources labeled by weight. Interpretive claims are sourced to primary texts, named scholars, creeds, catechisms, or representative confessional documents.
- Positions kept distinct. What the Christian texts and history can be argued to show is presented with the Christian replies engaged; what Islam teaches, and why, is stated as Islam's.
- “We don't know” is an answer. Expect both “the earliest manuscripts don't contain this verse” and “we don't know,” applied to the Quran's textual history as well as the Bible's.
